P90X

I did it! As you all read I finished 90 days with P90X. P90X is a Extreme 90day workout routine created by Tony Horton that focuses on muscle confusion . This was not my first time doing P90X; last year I fell off the wagon after completing 2 months. I lost 15 lbs and gained it all back a few months later, but this was a wake up call, the way I was treating my body was not healthy. I remember saying that the reason I wanted to do P90X was so that I could eat whatever I wanted. This mindset was not good. I got cocky with the 15lbs that I lost and I went back to the sweets, pop and running into fast food. Thanksgiving was when I decided that it was time to get truly healthy, I gave up chew tobacco and once I had the funds I ordered P90X (the one I was using before was my sister's). I started working out on Jan 16th with ups and downs and a couple days missed here and there. I was able to finish it and I got some really good results.

                                                                      Day 1
                                                         Weight:           211 lbs
                                                            Waist:           41 in

                                                                     Day 90
                                                         Weight:             180 lbs
                                                           Waist:              34 1/2 in

Yeah, I lost 31 lbs and 6 1/2 in on my waist.

The reason for this blog was and still is to keep me accountable and maybe to motivate someone else to regain their health.

Day 1                                Day 90

Day 1                                              Day 90

Monday May 21st is the day I truly started another round of P90X. If you have questions about what else I did during this fitness journey please ask.

round one P90X finished

The Old Jeff (that is Adrian)
Yes I did it I finished 90day's of P90X. I don't have my results pictures yet or my final measurements but they are coming soon. Stopping is not an option I'm still going and I will start over with another round of P90X soon. I will be doing a running hybrid with my P90X workouts because this year I'm going to run in a half marathon.

Fresh eggs

When you're trying to lose weight you need a high protein diet. One of the best ways I do this is to start the morning off right with some farm fresh, free range eggs. If you like eggs I highly recommend free range or farm fresh if you can find them near your home. These egg's are so much more wholesome and have a much richer taste. Since they free range they eat bugs and grass which adds a lot of beneficial nutrients in every egg.The farm that I get these eggs from have a lot different chickens that lay different color eggs (note: some store bought eggs could be up to a year old before they get to the store. pay the extra money for quality and support your neighbor.)

The best kind of results

I had to go pick up some new jeans mine were getting a little loose. They are 32in waist I think the last time I had 32's I was still riding the bus to school.

Don't look back

I am less then two weeks away from finishing my first round of P90X. I have lost thirty one pounds my last official weight is now 180. I'm pretty sure the last time I was 180 I was in middle school. I can't wait to keep going I don't want to look back I'm hungry for more extreme fitness.

WEEK 10

The blog has suffered with Heidi not being at full operating strength and me working 10hrs a day. Sorry to my few loyal followers, I am still working out every day and eating as well as I can. There are some days where I have finished a workout at 10 o'clock. Those days were not fun at all. On the weight issue, I have not lost or gained any weight. Either my leftover fat is turning into lean muscle or I need to get more sleep. The P90X books and any other weight loss guide says that you should be getting 7-8 hours of sleep a night and that's not what this guy has been getting. So good night.

Added Motivation

Having a new baby is the only time I will agree with someone when they say that they don't have time to work out. This week my wife gave birth to our second son Isaac Martin. In that time I fell off the Gluten Dairy free challenge we had some pizza and other unmentionables. I still was able to do plyometrics and kenpo workout and when I weighed myself this morning I was still at 186 lbs. Tonight was now the official start of the last phase of my first round of P90X. Having another child really is added motivation to continue becoming the healthiest person I can be.

Dinners for a weirdo

The top picture is some chili that was a frozen leftover we ate last night with some XOCHITL chips. The picture on the bottom right is what we had for dinner today. Heidi calls this Mexican chicken soup, its like tortilla soup but without corn and add beans. Heidi had it with some cheese and sour cream. Both of these dinners were very good and no gluten or dairy for me. I really love XOCHITL chips, they are not as thick as other chips and really tasty.

WEEK 7 Update

WEEK 1                           WEEK 7
What to do if you are sick while in the middle of P90X? Last week Saturday I had to skip my kenpo-X  CD because I had a terrible cold or sinus infection, whatever it was I told myself that working out would have put me in worse shape than if I went to bed early. And that's exactly what I did that Saturday. I was in bed by 8:30 and sleeping before my head hit the pillow. It worked because today I'm operating at about 95%.
I don't know how much I weigh because I was running late to work this morning and forgot to step on the scale. Although at work I added a hole to my belt on the good side, I was sick of pulling up my pants all the time. I hope that I can get my wonderful wife to re-size all my shirts that are XL to L. My T-shirts are becoming long sleeves. Thanks to Heidi, she helped me make a collage of my progress pictures.

WEEK 6

looking at my trainer to see what to do.

OK so he wants me to pretend to be Tom Brady or something. (this move is called throw the bomb.)

Now the other arm, see this is fun! But really it is.

READY GET SET

UP!! (clap push ups)

WOW! that was hard. (I did 9 of those and they were towards the end of the workout.

Ahhh here is some dinner pork chop broccoli and brown rice (like a cave man)

The face picture at the start of week 6!

Week #1 look how unhappy I look.
This workout has been a lot of fun I look forward to it everyday. We are still living in an apartment here in Michigan's U.P. So on a day to day basis I don't have a lot to do. P90X has become my daily chore but, lets be honest it is only one a hour and fifteen  minutes a day so any one can do it if they want it bad enough. I say chore but here I am in week six and I love my workouts Its not a chore it is becoming an addiction, P90X is my junk food. I have ton's of energy these days. On days off I wake up before the sun comes over the horizon. That is something I would have not considered doing before P90X.
I have been looking into a workout called Crossfit. I think that its really cool but, the only down side of it would be having to join a crossfit gym. We all know that when you join a gym you now have a monthly payment. and I don't care for any kind of monthly payments. That is why I like P90X once you have it you own it no memberships. Although there is the crossfit diet, or at least the diet a lot of people use when they are doing crossfit. The diet is called Paleo and the Paleo diet can also be called the cave man diet. From everything that I have gathered the paleo diet is a  diet where you don't eat any processed grains or dairy two things that are hard to come by in this house. I just have to watch my portions and, eat one plate of food and call it good.
I'm not that worried that I'm doing the wrong thing yet. Today was also the day I weighed my self, and I was at 196 lbs that is now a 15 lbs loss from where I started. So if keep hitting play and give it my best each day the results will keep coming

P.S. my editor (Wife) is not here tonight so bear with me I have never been good at putting things into words. I'm working on it.

Results Week

week#1
week#1

week#5
Today was results day after 4 weeks of P90X. These are the pictures that I think you can see the best results. I have lost 1 inch on my chest, 3 inches on my waist, and lost 12 lbs. I have gotten this success by eating clean, high protein foods every 2 to 3 hours, smaller portions and working out at least an hour every day with P90X. you can do it too, you just have to Bring IT!

WEEK #4

week#4
week#1
This is the start of week #4 at the end of this week I will be taking my next full body pictures. The beginning of P90X three week's ago I weighed 211 lbs. Today February 7, 2012 I am on the brink of going below the 200 lbs barrier. Yes that means that I have lost 11 lbs in the first three weeks of this Extreme fitness adventure. This is great and all but I'm not satisfied at all. Actually I'm a disappointed in my self I want to be in better shape so bad I wish the weight would come off faster. Sunday night was really hard for me. Because as you all know it was super bowl Sunday. There was tons of great food and sweets in front of me all night long. The only good thing I can take out of that night is that I did not eat any sweets but I felt like I did over eat on some of the junk that was there. I did not want to look at the scale Monday morning and all the junk in my gut I didn't want to take my weekly face shot. Tuesday morning came and the scale said that I was 200 lbs so that was a relief that I'm still on track. PS sorry for no workout pics it is a little boring with just my face on here.

Week #3

1/30/2012

1/16/2012
Yahoo week two is in the books, and today was the start of week three, obviously. There is not that much to update. Each day I keep hitting "play" and I'm treating my workouts like hockey practice. When I was in high school, each day after school I would head to the rink for an hour and a half skate with some off-ice training. If I could do that all winter back then, I can do this for at least 90 days or more. I think that my pictures might be showing some results, but my wife says she don't see it. She is probably trying to keep me from getting a big head. Later in the week I might post some pictures of me in the middle of some of my workouts with a little diary of what I do each day in P90X.

MONDAY OF WEEK #2
WEEK #1

WEEK #2                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Today was the start of week 2, The picture I took was after my workout today. This morning I weighed myself and I lost 3lbs according to our scale. I started P90X at 211 lbs, Now the scale said I was 208 lbs. I don't think my face picture is showing any signs of change yet, and I didn't think that it would not after only a week. The biggest thing that I keep telling myself these last few day's is CHEW LIKE A COW, SO I DON'T LOOK LIKE ONE. When I'm eating, before I swallow the food it should have been chewed on both sides of my mouth. Also, I make sure the food is not in the same form that it was when it went into my mouth. When I do this, I fill up with less food than I used to. Oh, and Mom, here is a picture of me smiling, because YES it is a lot of fun working out and becoming more fit.

Week #1 of P90X

Day 1 of P90X (classic version) was started Monday January 16th. Now I'm posting at the end of week 1. These pictures are some of the pictures I took as the program suggested when starting P90X. Yup, week one is over all I can say is, WOW. I shouldn't be surprised, this is attempt #2 with P90X. The last time, I finished just over 2 months of this extreme work out, during which I shed 15 lbs. It was noticed by friends, family and co-workers.
Well, all the hard work that I was doing was interrupted when we traveled downstate to my brother's wedding. I told myself that I get one week off, and when I get back I would get right back on it. WELL, that didn't work. During that week off, I fell back into almost every bad habit that I thought I was done with. I picked up chewing tobacco, Taco bell, going for seconds, drinking pop, and eating after 7:00pm. I decided to CHANGE, but I truly did NOT COMMIT TO IT.
Now, it was time to make a decision, do I want to continue down this road, gaining weight and increasing my risk of lip or mouth cancer? On the way back from spending time with family on Thanksgiving I decided that right then I was done with snuff, and fat! So after some procrastination and the Christmas Holiday, P90X arrived in the mail. (My sister wanted her old copy back, so I need my own.) Monday, January 16th, I started P90X for what is now the second time. I am a week in and the only result I can comment about is that my energy level is increasing. Also this time I am trying a couple of different things, I'm taking a sport muti-vitamin pack from GNC along with their "Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60" dietary drink. I'm going to try and keep a weekly post and face picture to document my successes and failures while I'm getting in the best shape of my life.
